We truly live during one of the most remarkable times in all of human history, and the advance of technology is changing all of our lives at a pace that is absolutely dizzying. The pair met in the city of Aachen earlier this week and agreed to a 16-page document that aims to limit the growth of Euro-sceptic parties that are on the rise across the bloc.

In Europe, symbolism is all-important, and Aachen was chosen to make a statement. It was there during the 9th century that Charlemagne, the king who united much of western Europe into his Holy Roman Empire, made his home. Britain was never part of that empire.

Trade tensions, the threat of a hard Brexit and weaker emerging markets growth have all played a part in dampening Germany’s nine-year-long economic upswing. 2018 was a trying year for the world’s third-largest exporter, as Germany saw its much-celebrated trade surplus shrink. Overall, it would appear that Germany acts as the string that keeps the bloc together and should it break, multiple challenges could surface, threatening the future of the Eurozone and the cohesion of the EU.

Every institution that was previously trusted to defend America against foreign and domestic enemies has now become a domestic enemy itself.

President Trump’s decision to sign a temporary deal to re-open the government, without the funding for the border wall, shows how much compassion he feels towards these federal employees. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the Democrats complete unwillingness to negotiate over the past 35 days shows they don’t care at all about people not getting paid to do their jobs while they work.

After all, Pelosi, Schumer and all of Congress received their paychecks the entire time the government was shut down. Remember President Trump works for free because he donates every one of his Presidential pay-checks, so his motivation was not related to money.

Our US Constitution and US Code of Law tells us that treason is a serious crime, even punishable by death. There are only three crimes that United States elected Representatives of the House or the Senate can be arrested for: treason, felony, and breach of peace. Given that Nancy Pelosi, upon taking her oath of office, swore to support and defend the US against all enemies, why has she engaged in passing laws that provide Sanctuary to illegals, continue to oppose funding to a border wall to protect our national security, and obstruct any negotiations to fund the border wall ending the government shut down?

If the British considered this area ‘Palestine’ and they were certainly active within it, then why is it hardly mentioned? Perhaps, you might weakly suggest, that the British were simply not talking about the region or foreign affairs at all. ​You would be wrong​.​

Delving into Hansard, the record of Parliamentary debates, turned up astonishing results on Israel, the Levant, Jews and anti-Semitism. Jerusalem was mentioned 219 times in the 19th century. On the rare occasions (41 times) that ‘Palestine’ was mentioned, more than half were when someone in Parliament used a biblical reference or spoke about British Jews.

Beyond a nostalgic biblical concept that drew lines on a map in the minds of Christian men, ‘Palestine’ simply did not exist. In comparison to ‘Palestine’, the word ‘Syria’ was referenced 517 times. The identity ‘Palestinian’ appeared for the first time in 1920 (at the time it was an identity only really accepted by Jews).

Until 2014, I was an Islamist who abhorred Jewish people and was open to waging war against them. Today, however, I am friends with many Jewish faith leaders. This transition wasn’t political, it was rather theological. In brief, I started to question certain claims taught to me by my teachers and Muslim community. I began by asking myself the question, does Jerusalem really belong to Islam and Muslims?

To answer this vitally important question, we need to inquire how cities become sacred according to Islam. Throughout human history, every religion has been associated with an area that has been sanctified, respected and revered. Islam is no different. There are tens of sacred cities in Islam, such as Mecca, Medina, Qum, Karbala and Najaf – due to clear verses of the Koran acknowledging their glory or sayings of Prophet Mohammad assuring Muslims of their exaltation.

The Holy Koran states very clearly that the Holy Land, Jerusalem, belongs to the Jewish nation of Moses, the Israelites: “And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, ‘O my people, remember the favor of Allah [God] upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the world’” (Koran: 5:20 onwards).

The above verse also makes it clear that God “had not given (this land to) anyone among the world” other than the Jewish nation. From this verse, and others of similar context, we understand that Jerusalem is a sacred city according to God, but it is not a sacred Islamic city, due to the fact that its sacredness was established before the existence of Islam.

On the other hand, I do not understand the Muslim struggle for Jerusalem. Islamic laws strictly prohibit relieving oneself while facing Mecca, in fact, toilets in all Islamic countries and most Muslim homes do not face Mecca, out of respect to the holy city. Yet Bukhari reports that our Prophet Mohammad used to deliberately and repeatedly relieve himself while facing Jerusalem, even though he could have faced another direction instead.

Does it make sense that Palestinians are dying for Jerusalem when their own beloved Prophet used to prefer defecating toward it? Whether Palestine is Jewish land or whether Israel is a state are two completely different debates. A Muslim may reject Israel being a state, but cannot deny the fact that the entire region, including Palestine, is in fact Jewish land. 

I would suggest that it is actually feminism and the social justice cult that has caused the misery of both genders by pushing them away from their biological roles. Men are no longer supposed to be providers and protectors, and their natural energy is attacked as destructive to society. Women are no longer supposed to be nurturing people with nesting instincts and a desire for children; they are supposed to abandon all of that to take on the roles of men. The loss of our biological imperatives is driving us to depression, suicide and the downfall of our civilization.

The only solution I can think of is for men to start acting like men again; to even organize around masculinity and to support each other in our efforts to achieve our goals we must return to our roots as producers, providers, builders and protectors and we have to ensure that we do this for the right reasons rather than reasons given to us by the establishment.

If you are wondering why many governments have taken such an active interest in supporting feminist aims and in some cases turning their ideology into law, consider this: Masculinity can be independent, unruly and aggressive. A society in which masculinity thrives is a society that is harder to rule. A society that has made masculinity a taboo would be easier to dominate. Socialist governments in particular support feminism because it serves their interests - keeping people docile and dependent so that the ruling elite are forever secure in their positions of power.

The signing in Aachen is highly symbolic. Aachen, a German city bordering Belgium and the Netherlands, was the imperial residence of Charlemagne, and from 936 to 1531 AD, the place where 31 Holy Roman Emperors were crowned kings of the Germans. One way to understand France and Germany is to know that images of Charlemagne are dancing in their heads. Here is how John Pinkerton put it in the American Conservative:

Maas told the session, which focused on climate change and conflict, that it was crucial for international policy to better reflect the dangers posed by global warming. “We must now will Europe or perish beneath the waves of populism,” the document reads. “We must rediscover political voluntarism or accept that resentment, hatred and their cortege of sad passions will surround and submerge us.” They write of their regret that Europe has been “abandoned from across the Channel” – an oblique reference to the drawn-out Brexit process that has arguably brought Anglo-European relations to their lowest point since the second world war.

And they say that unless efforts are made to combat a rising tide of populism, the EU elections will be “the most calamitous that we have ever known: victory for the wreckers; disgrace for those who still believe in the legacy of Erasmus, Dante, Goethe, and Comenius; disdain for intelligence and culture; explosions of xenophobia and antisemitism; disaster”.

“Abandoned from across the Channel and from across the Atlantic by the two great allies who in the previous century saved it twice from suicide; vulnerable to the increasingly overt manipulations of the master of the Kremlin, Europe as an idea, as will and representation, is coming apart before our eyes,” the text reads.

"It is impossible to imagine that the head of state would use a construction of words such as this without it being appreciated that they would be seen as a reference to the current political debate," he said.  Her words echoed the theme of her Christmas broadcast, our correspondent added. 

Chancellor Philip Hammond said there was "huge wisdom" in the Queen's remarks.  He told Radio 4's Today programme: "I don't think anybody will be at all surprised to hear the Queen advocating the view that in all things controversial we should seek compromise, we should seek common ground, we should seek a way forward."  The Queen also received praise from other cabinet ministers for speaking out - including Health Secretary Matt Hancock and Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd, who called them "wise words".

The Senate and House of Representatives both passed the deal by unanimous consent Friday. The White House later confirmed Trump had signed it into law. But while Trump climbed down in agreeing to reopen government without first getting $5.7 billion in border wall funds, he still threatened to renew hostilities with a new shutdown, or a state of emergency, if there is no breakthrough on his pet project in the next three weeks.

"Over the next 21 days, I expect that both Democrats and Republicans will operate in good faith," he said as he announced he would reopen the government. "If we don't get a fair deal from Congress, the government either shuts down on February 15th again, or I will use the powers afforded to me under the laws and Constitution of the United States to address this emergency," he warned. "We really have no choice but to build a powerful wall or steel barrier."
